Elizabeth June is a gospel singer who has sung spirituals and hymns in church since the age of 7. She started directing choirs when she was in the third grade and continued directing choirs all through college. June has toured with gospel ensembles to England, Scotland, Wales, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Israel and the Caribbean. June’s music video, “FREEDOM” was Video of the Week by MTV’s website mtvU.com. June is also a stage, screen and voiceover actor and company member of The Robey Theatre Company founded by Danny Glover and Ben Guillory. She is a cast member of the audio drama BRONZEVILLE, directed by Laurence Fishburne and produced by Larenz Tate. A native New Yorker and graduate of the MFA program at the Actors Studio Drama School (2003), June is also co-founder of SilverLox Films with her husband Jason S. Williams. Their indie films have been featured in film festivals across the country. June’s Stage Credits include: Seven Guitars, Balm in Gilead, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Colored Museum. TV Credits include: Fresh Off The Boat, As The World Turns, Criminal Minds and ABC’s hit sitcom Black-ish where she played Harriet Tubman in Season 1. As a certified Yoga instructor and breast cancer survivor, June currently offers free online, modified yoga sessions on her Facebook page Silverlox Yoga with June.
