May 23 – The Commanderrs
The Commanderrs, Sally South and her brother Isaac Derr, have been performing and writing music since the summer of 2013. They recorded their first album, a collection of songs written by Sally, “Set Sail”, which was released Sept. 2014. Their Second album, a collection of Isaac’s songs titled “Where Nobody Knows Me” was released in November of 2014. Both projects were recorded at the Rubber Room Studio in Chapel Hill, NC. They have played shows from “The Barnacle” on a pier over the Atlantic Ocean to the foothills of Virginia near Smith Mt. Lake, amassing over 45 shows in Central NC, Coastal NC, and the foothills of Virginia.
