Don Smith and Alan Phelps were 2/3 of ESP, a long-time favorite at Sacred Grounds and one of our regular acts between 2001 and 2007. Tonight, they’ll reunite for a program of some of the all-acoustic music they performed here during those years. They’ll be playing some Appalachian/Irish fiddle tunes and other instrumentals as well as American folk/traditional songs. They’ll also cover such artists as The Delmore Brothers, Bob Dylan, The Carter Family, Norman Blake, John Prine, Tom Paxton, Henry Clay Work, Ralph McTell, Flatt & Scruggs, and North Carolina’s own Charlie Poole.
