October 30 – Mike Paris

Posted on

Michael Paris is a singer/songwriter/musician from Durham, NC. His music covers many topics, and his musical style is Americana/folk along the lines of Don McLean, Gordon Lightfoot, Harry Chapin, and John Denver. Many of his songs use themes from his Appalachia roots that come from the first half of his life in West Virginia. Michael mostly performs songs that he has written (over 100) and uses an acoustic guitar for most of them. He is a multi-instrumentalist and will sometimes use other instruments in his performances (e.g., dobro, Irish bouzouki, Hawaiian lap guitar). Michael has performed in the Triangle region for over a dozen years. He has been at Sacred Grounds previously when he performed with the groups The Dogwood Blossom Band, Up Cane Creek, and Gnarly Blue. This is Michael’s 2nd solo performance at Sacred Grounds – the 1st was an excellent concert… http://www.reverbnation.com/michaelparis
