Charles Pettee from Chapel Hill, NC has delighted audiences with a tasty blend of original and traditional music seasoned at more than 4,500 performances throughout the US, Canada, and Europe since 1981. He is a founding member of the Flying Fish Recording Artist The Shady Grove Band, and originator of Charles Pettee & FolkPsalm, which released their third CD The Way of Manna, January, 2010. Pettee has hosted workshops in guitar and mandolin technique at some of the most prestigious music festivals in North America including the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS, MerleFest, NC, and the Winnepeg Folk Festival, Canada, and his original compositions have received airplay in more than twenty foreign countries, as well as digital and satellite transmissions. Amanda Holder, a native of Smyrna, Tennessee, is the daughter of a singer, and she has been singing ever since she learned to speak. Her favorite childhood pastimes were singing along with movie musicals and children’s storybooks. She studied piano for ten years, and in high school and college, she pursued roles in musicals and plays. After college, Mandy moved to New York, NY, to attend Atlantic Acting School. She moved to Carrboro in 2010, and began singing with FolkPsalm in Jan.2012.
