Over the past few years, Don Smith has brought us a number of special “themed” shows. One was a program made up of nothing but train songs. Another was the music of a single artist – The Carter Family – which he presented along with Cindy Emens. Tonight, Don will be reuniting with his good friend and former ESP band mate Alan Phelps for a very special musical event. Don and Alan will be bringing four instruments to this show:
1915 Gibson mandolin
1924 Gibson guitar
1925 Gibson mandolin
1926 Martin guitar
and their playlist will be made up *entirely* of songs that were written no later than 1926. The oldest one they have planned is from the 1780s! This promises to be very interesting and entertaining night of music … make plans now to see it.
